Elementary and Middle School
Since 1975, our Private School has provided a quality elementary and middle school program. Students find small class room sizes promoting ample learning opportunity with their teachers. Elementary curriculums meet recent research methods that help promote solid reading and handwriting skills. All content area curriculums continue promotion of the principles taught in reading time. Elementary and Middle School students are exposed weekly to outside classroom learning in art, computer, Spanish, music and PE. Students receive periodic testing to ensure grade level learning goals are achieved. When a student exhibits learning struggles, additional corrective resources are available through Academic Learning programs. Lakeside employs Resource staff to augment students learning needs outside of the classroom. The foundational elements of our elementary and middle school programs are solid curriculum, competent and caring staff, and a safe and secure environment. Technology is applied at every level and teachers are constantly trained to plan for technology use in their daily lessons. All classrooms contain interactive whiteboards intended to meet the needs of diverse learning styles. Lakeside’s caring and competent Christian staff meets the necessary degree and training requirements of our various accreditation agencies. Our private school is accredited by SACS, ACSI, and NILD and adheres to meet the professional guidelines required by each. Our private school was recently given the NILD Program of Excellence award signifying our desire to learn and utilize research based methods in teaching a diverse learning population. Various programs are designed to meet the needs of those who are accelerated learners as well as those finding school difficult.
Elementary students compete in annual spelling, math, art and singing competitions as well as
team sports in the upper elementary grades. Field trips are offered connected to learning going on in the classroom. There is supervised before-care for parents needing to be to work early as well as after-care programs. Cheerleading programs start in Kindergarten offering opportunity to compete and cheer for the elementary teams at home games. Parents who may be seeking a private school with resources for students with learning or reading struggles find programs that compliment classroom work and support their students while mediating the cause of the learning problem. Resource staff works together with the classroom teacher to help every student succeed.
Middle school is a time for preparing students for college prep academics. Our middle school curriculum and requirements are a step above other schools in intensity. Students are stretched to gain organizational skills necessary for college prep high school academics. Students are required to take seven academic courses each day with resource, mentoring and tutoring available to those needing additional help. Students have the ability to accelerate and reach high school with as many as four high school credits already earned. The accelerated learning program provides students an early jump start at high school classes so they create space for dual enrollment coursework later in high school.

{Middle school students have art, computer, foreign language, drama and team sports opportunities blended with the schools strong emphasis on math, science, language arts, history and Bible.}
